Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners
I was contracted by the Royal College to create a secure on-line portal for it's membership to pay subs, and complete a variety of on-line surveys. For the four thousand strong membership privacy of personal information was paramount, and the portal needed direct access to the collages primary membership database.
The membership portal is a rich AJAX web application. The client side user interface was developed using the popular ExtJS 2.0 frame work, the server side companion code was written in PHP 5 / MySQL 5 and ran on Apache / Windows.
The portal was designed to be modular, making adding new surveys or features. Modules can be visible to some member groups and not others, for example some administrative modules only seen by some internal staff.
Sarah Chamberlain
Up-and-coming London based artist Sarah Chamberlain needed a simple site to showcase her work to galleries and the public at large. The emphasis here was on subtlety, nothing about the design should be overbearing or obscure her work.
The script.aculo.us JavaScript library was used to provide subtle effects, the site is fully XHTML Transitional complaint, and receives a healthy amount of traffic from Google (and other search engines)
sarahchamberlain.infoSheepish
Complete ground up design and implementation of this on-line homeware e-commerce store. I was employed as PM and lead developer. First research and advise on available technology solutions, making recommendations to management, then overseeing implementation within tight deadlines.
This site was based on the free / open source PHP e-commerce software called Zen Cart. I was required to do the graphic design and create html/css templates for Zen Cart, implement the base site, and write a variety of extensions such as CSS drop-down menus, light box image pop-ups.
Saint Marks Church School
Complete rebuild of school web site, included custom Content Management System (CMS). I was overall Project Manager for this job, and provided the school with a Technology road map that is still being rolled out today.
This site was built on ASP2.0/IIS. A MS Style Group-User system was added to allow individuals access to some secure areas and not others.
Pay4it
Credit card authorisation service and shopping cart technology for small businesses. Used by local retailers. Written in ASP 2.0, Pay4it is a plug-in shopping cart for small businesses who do not want the expense of a full blown e-commerce solution. The service features stock management and control and income / tax reporting, and automated shipping cost estimation.
